CAPE provided turnkey environmental remediation services to the Air Force to reduce their long-term environmental liabilities and life-cycle costs. We achieved this through accelerating site closures and optimization for 18 sites. The approach to closing sites and optimizing remedial operations centered around the use of innovative technologies and innovative applications of traditional technologies. We performed soil and groundwater treatment systems O&M, long-term monitoring (LTM), and sampling and data management. CAPE used technologies such as ozone treatment; air sparging/soil vapor extraction (SVE), horizontal directional drilling, enhanced bioremediation, and enhanced fluid recovery with surfactant. We also mixed zerovalent iron into the soil to treat DNAPL; addressed emerging contaminants such as 1,4 Dioxane; and constructed engineered wetlands.
