Project Scientist - Wetlands

Full Time, Remote

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

CAPE is seeking a Project Scientist to support developing environmental remediation and sustainability projects with substantial field, GIS/data, and technical-documentation components. Initial assignments are expected to include wetlands and hydrology work, industrial environmental sites, field investigations, spatial/data integration, and preparation of technically defensible project records and deliverables.

This position will initially work with senior technical staff to execute field investigations; collect and document environmental observations and samples; organize photographs, GPS, monitoring and other field records; maintain or support GIS and project databases; prepare maps, figures, tables, exhibits and appendices; perform routine spatial and data QA/QC; and support preparation of technical memoranda, regulatory materials and other project deliverables.

With demonstrated competence, this position will assume increasing responsibility for planning and leading routine field efforts, interpreting field and spatial data, identifying data gaps, preparing technical sections, supporting regulatory coordination, and owning larger components of project execution. Development will follow demonstrated strengths and project needs rather than a fixed path.

SALARY:
$75,000 - $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Up to 50% annually

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant natural or environmental science discipline, such as ecology, biology, environmental science, geology, soil science, natural resources, physical geography, or a related field
