Assistant Project Manager

Full Time, Remote

CAPE is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of environmental remediation, construction management, and project delivery efforts. This role works closely with Project Managers and project teams to assist with planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, client coordination, and overall project execution. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and a commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Support the Project Manager from cradle to grave in project execution.
  • Manage assigned tasks in accordance with scope, schedule and budget.
  • Provide support to Project Manager in the areas of resource planning, scheduling, procurements, change management, cost controls, cost estimating, and project closeout.
  • Support project management in evaluating overall staffing needs within area of accountability and align assigned team with policies, culture and values at CAPE.
  • Support Project Manager in assigned areas for Project Reviews and Readiness Review meetings
  • Support Project Manager in the effective management of resources and coordination with other support groups such as TSO, QC, safety, construction and estimating
  • Assist Project Manager in the identification, analysis, and response to project risk elements.
  • Provide technical expertise and technical assistance as needed to assigned project support staff in the field
  • Assist the Project Manager in conducting client kick-off meetings and communication of the results of the client expectations to project team members
  • Provide proposal development support (scoping, schedule development, vendor screening, cost estimating) on all assigned proposals.
  • Support project management in task order and contract fee proposal preparation
  • Assist in the completion and timely invoicing for all assigned projects
  • Assist in vendor and subcontractor buyout and the acquisition of needed supplies and services from outside vendors
  • Assist in management of subcontractors and approval of subcontractor invoices
  • Provide effective support in the development, scheduling, tracking, control and execution of projects using the application of generally accepted project management tools, skills, knowledge, and techniques.
  • Bring quality issues up immediately through Project Manager, support the investigation, development and implementation of corrective action, pass on for lessons learned.
  • Travel to project sites as necessary, for extended periods of time as needed or required, to execute responsibilities.

SALARY: $70,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

TRAVEL: Up to 50% to project sites in support of field execution of projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate's degree
• 1 year of experience in environmental remediation, environmental consulting, civil construction, construction management, or geotechnical engineering.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, Environmental Science, or other related sciences
• 1-3 years of experience in environmental remediation, environmental consulting, civil construction, construction management, or geotechnical engineering.
