This position will provide health and safety (H&S) support for projects as a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO). Responsibilities include: participate in job walks and pre-job planning; prepare and review project work plans; specify and obtain safety supplies; provide supervision for recognition, evaluation, control of site hazards; establish safe work procedures; monitor safe work practices; present daily safety meetings, initial site safety briefings, and safety training; perform safety inspections and follow up actions; conduct exposure monitoring; complete incident reporting and investigations; maintain H&S recordkeeping; and provide health and safety technical assistance as needed.
Enforce implementation and compliance with the site specific health and safety plan, health and safety procedures and SSHO instructions; support the health and safety staff in the investigation of all health and safety incidents; provide support to ensure that health and safety citations or notice of violations are not issued; report safety violations or concerns promptly to management in accordance with CAPE procedures; provide follow up inspections and document correction of deficiencies; monitor and evaluate health and safety performance of assigned project site operations.
SALARY:
$80,000-$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
TRAVEL:
This is an onsite position and only sporadic travel may be needed. The project is a fixed location in Eastern Kansas.
